Lesson Packages for Shotgun and Handgun
Deep River offers instruction packages and classes including the NC Concealed Carry Handgun and Laws Governing the Use of Deadly Force training. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Deep River at 919-774-7080.
Try-It-Out Shotgun Package

Never shot a shotgun before? Then this is the ideal package for you!
During this informative orientation, we acquaint you with the game of Sporting Clays and gun safety, discussing the history of the sport, course etiquette, and proper use of appropriate equipment while answering any questions you may have.
This session includes the use of a shotgun, clay targets, ammunition, and 45 minutes with a certified coach in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. Schedule your Try-It-Out Package / Shotgun by calling us at (919) 774-7080. Max group size is 4 persons. $50 per person (no member discount).
Private Shotgun Lessons & Coaching on the Course

Tailored to the specific needs and goals of the shooter(s). Cost is $100 an hour for one person. Joint lesson for 2 people is $150 per hour. (Each additional person is $50/hr. more). Targets and ammunition are extra.
Coaching on the course involves a staff coach offering tactical tips and target management as you shoot the course. $100 per hour. For groups of up to 5 people. (Not designed for brand new shooters).

North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun Course
​
We are proud to host North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun (CCH) Courses instructed by Chase Dodson, a USCCA, NRA, and DOJ Certified Firearms Instructor.
This course satisfies the training requirement established by the State of North Carolina for individuals seeking to obtain a Concealed Carry Permit. Upon successful completion of the class, students will receive the certificate required by their local Sheriff's Office to apply for their permit.
The course begins at 8:00 AM and typically concludes around 6:00 PM. Throughout the day, students will receive comprehensive classroom instruction and complete the required live-fire qualification.

If you do not currently own a firearm, rental handguns will be available for a $10 cash fee on the day of class. Ammunition is included with the rental.
Additional Information
Regular breaks will be provided throughout the day, including a lunch break. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and beverages, and a breakroom is available on-site for your convenience.
This course is hosted by Deep River Sporting Clays & Shooting School and instructed by certified firearms instructor Chase Dodson.
Seats are limited and classes often fill quickly, so early registration is encouraged.

Deep River Sporting Clays and Shooting School has NSCA and CSM certified shotgun instructors available for both private or joint lessons. Our pistol instructors are USCCA / NRA certified and can teach IDPA. Private shotgun or pistol instructor fee is $100 per hour. Add a 2nd person for a joint lesson at an additional $50 per hour. Clay targets, Pistol Pavilion lane fee are additional and gun rental with ammunition are available. Instruction is targeted to the ability and level of each student to maximize educational content. Most lessons are 1 hour or up to 2 hours. Larger group lessons can be arranged by calling the Gear Shop. DRSC members receive 15% discounts. Private Concealed Carry classes can be scheduled at $125 per person with a minimum of 5 persons.
